Biography
Through pioneering guitar lines, Slot Racer crafts experimental rock pieces that ultimately reveal bright, engaging alternative tracks via polished instrumental arrangements. The project originated in Atlanta, Georgia, during 1998 when Jason Dove on guitar and vocals teamed with Michael Griffeth on drums to form an initial pair. Following several rehearsal sessions, the pair resolved to capture their earliest material and enlisted Edward Rawls on bass, who soon became a permanent member. Plans advanced for issuing a debut recording until a string of unusual events, among them the loss of the master tapes, led the members to shelve the project without a set date. By 2000 the original duo reconvened, now joined by bassist Jeff Holt in place of Rawls. The refreshed lineup proceeded to build a substantial audience across the United States as well as in Japan and Europe, prompting a return to the studio for work on a debut full-length album.
