Though Sly Fox scored success with just a solitary release, that track proved memorable. Reaching number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986, the duo's "Let's Go All the Way" featured a thumping drum sound and funky bass. The recording might have appeared to stem from an obscure, fleeting pair of newcomers, yet it originated with Parliament-Funkadelic veteran and session musician Gary "Mudbone" Cooper alongside vocalist Michael Camacho. Their first album, also titled Let's Go All the Way, drew harsh reviews; despite climbing to number 31 on the Billboard 200, the set overflowed with filler in the form of lightweight funk and superficial pop/rock that failed to resonate. Lacking any comparable follow-up hits, the pair soon earned one-hit wonder status. Cooper later pursued various P-Funk and solo endeavors while adding session contributions alongside Jack Bruce, the Black Crowes, Tony Allen, and Digital Underground. Camacho shifted to behind-the-scenes roles, appearing on several of those same releases plus albums by Don Johnson and Bernie Worrell. He also pursued acting and issued the vocal album Just for You in 2007.
