Hailing from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Small Town Titans channel influences ranging from Deep Purple and Soundgarden to Royal Blood and Highly Suspect, resulting in a forceful yet adaptable power-trio sound. The group upholds a rigorous independent ethic, basing operations inside a custom-built, professional-grade studio where they continually produce and share videos, podcasts, cover material, and additional content. Their reputation also rests on explosive concert performances. Assembled in 2011, the lineup comprises bassist and vocalist Phil Freeman, guitarist Ben Guiles, and drummer Jonny Ross, who first encountered one another while enrolled at Lebanon Valley College. The band’s self-released debut album, Fight to Flight, appeared in 2013, with the follow-up Reflection arriving three years later in 2016. During 2017 they posted a version of the seasonal staple “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch” on their YouTube channel; the track accumulated millions of views and registered on major online music services the next year. In 2018 the trio also unveiled the deeply personal single “Dragonfly,” written to commemorate vocalist Phil Freeman’s mother, who had passed away in 2017.
