Biography
The acoustic rock pair Snake Oil & Harmony crafts emotionally resonant, blues-inflected songcraft steeped in soul, a style showcased on their first album Hurricane Riders from 2020.
Snake Oil & Harmony came together in 2015 when Danny Vaughn of New York hard rockers Tyketto and Dan Reed of Oregon funk-rockers Dan Reed Network crossed paths backstage at Download and connected at once. Respected vocalists and composers in their separate careers, with long histories of studio and touring work, the two recognized the possibilities of pooling their skills and launched a duo devoted to acoustic live takes on material from their individual catalogs. Those concerts drew strong audience approval, which in turn spurred calls for them to create new songs as a team. The outcome was their debut album, Hurricane Riders. Cut at Prague's Faust Studios and issued in 2020 through Zero One Music, the record marked the duo's growth into a full ensemble via the enlistment of Swedes Bengt Jonasson on bass and Robert Mehmet Sinan İkiz on drums.
