Biography
Originating from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Snatches of Pink formed as a three-piece unit whose lineup featured drummer Sara Romweber, formerly of Let's Active, together with vocalist Andy McMillan and guitarist Michael Rank. Their coarse, uneven style set them apart from other acts then active in the state, delivering occasional flashes of inspiration yet attracting scant notice overall. The trio issued its first recording, Send in the Clowns, in 1987, then followed with Dead Men in 1989 and Bent with Pray in 1992. After an extended break the group reconvened in 2003 for the album Hyena, on which Rank served as the lone remaining member from the original configuration. Stag appeared in 2005, after which Love Is Dead arrived in 2007. Sara Romweber died of a brain tumor in March 2019.
