Biography
The alt-metal trio Snowdogs, stationed in London, features Ville Leppanen handling vocals and guitar alongside his brother Mat Leppanen on bass and Benjy Reid on drums. Of Finnish descent, the Leppanen siblings studied classical piano at American schools throughout the late '90s. Following the completion of their studies, the two siblings teamed with Reid to launch Snowdogs. Their first full-length release, Animal Farm, surfaced in 2001 and earned widespread acclaim from British critics. That acclaim secured the group an American contract with Victory the following year. Performances alongside MXPX, Less Than Jake, and the Alkaline Trio refined the ensemble’s stage presence and intensified their drive for rock & roll. Evidence of that development surfaced on the band’s second album, Deep Cuts, Fast Remedies, which arrived in early 2003.
