Biography
Emerging from Sacramento, California in 2009, So Stressed formed around three hyperactive musicians who fused cerebral yet forceful punk rock with the manic drive of heavy caffeine intake. The project launched as an expansive noise collective before shrinking to a core trio of Morgan Fox on synthesizer and vocals, Andrew Garcia on guitar, and Kenneth Draper on drums. Even with the reduced lineup, the band retained its capacity for intense volume and soon established itself as a regular presence in the California noise punk scene. Their first EP, Attracted to Open Mouths, appeared in October 2012 through the independent Music Ruins Lives imprint. In late 2014, Meredith Graves of Perfect Pussy disclosed plans to start Honor Press, an imprint set for distribution via Captured Tracks, and selected So Stressed as its inaugural signing. The band’s debut full-length album, The Unlawful Trade of Greco-Roman Art, followed in May 2015.
