Biography
Sofamecca drew from the atmospheric textures of contemporary psychedelic groups such as Mercury Rev, the Church, and Doves for their debut release, Sofa Mecca, which appeared in 2002. With Jason Gann handling lead vocals, the outfit earned modest critical esteem, then resurfaced in 2005 with Commuters, an album that drew comparable praise.
