Biography
During her formative years as a student, Mexican Sofia Miranda chose to pursue music by taking up studies in singing and piano at the National Music Conservatory and making her first live appearance at age 15. She entered the Valores Juveniles contest in 1990. Sofia Miranda cut her debut album in Los Angeles, CA, under the production of Carlos Lara in 1996; Un Pretexto appeared next on the AT Music label. The following year, she placed second in the regional selection to represent Mexico at OTI's Festival, performing the song "Un Aplauso A La Vida."
