Biography
Emerging from the Canadian band Grade, whose roster at different points encompassed all four musicians, Somehow Hollow took shape as a distinct project. The group first assembled in 2000 as a trio featuring Mike Casarin on bass and vocals, Drew Clark on drums, and Kent Abbott on guitar and vocals. Brad Casarin, Mike’s brother and likewise a guitarist and singer, later completed the lineup as a foursome, even though Grade remained his central focus at the time. Once Grade ceased operations in mid-2002, the four members were able to concentrate exclusively on Somehow Hollow. Their first album, Busted Wings & Rusted Halos, carried a pop-punk style and arrived in early 2003.
