Sometree

Sometree traces its roots to 1994, when the band formed in Hanover, Germany, and initially devoted itself to Metallica covers along with homemade cassette recordings throughout the mid-1990s. By 1996 the group had locked in its definitive membership, yet remained geographically distant from the American indie-rock world it hoped to join. Driven by that ambition, Sometree independently funded and recorded its first album, Hazel, that same year, then quickly followed it with Clever, Clever, Where Is Your Heart? The introspective, densely textured music caught the ear of Smith & Nephews Company and Magic Bullet Theory. Subsequent tours and a split 7" alongside Pop Unknown paved the way for the U.S. appearance of Clever, Clever... in 2000, after which Sold Heart to the One arrived in 2001.
