The five musicians who make up Sonic Tribe each contributed distinct personal histories that shaped the ensemble's distinctive rhythmic blend of ethnic traditions. Beth Quist, Gina Sala, Greg Callahan, Dean Evenson, and Scott Huckabay fuse the ethereal atmosphere of New Age with the vibrant pulses of world music. Issued in 2000, their first release Sonic Tribe gained quick attention in yoga circles for its calming sounds and peaceful mood. Two years later Spirit Rising earned acclaim from New Age outlets that singled out the group's appealing fusion of styles.
