Biography
The South Memphis String Band, a contemporary blues ensemble, unites Luther Dickinson from the North Mississippi Allstars and the Black Crowes with Grammy-winner Alvin Youngblood Hart and Jimbo Mathus of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. Memphis International Records issued the group’s debut album, Home Sweet Home, on January 19, 2010; the set blends original material with songs drawn from Blind Willie Johnson, Jonny Lee Moore, the Mississippi Sheiks, and A.P. Carter.
