Biography
Spider Rockets formed in New Jersey during 1998, blending a contemporary approach with foundations in classic hard rock and heavy metal. Powerhouse frontwoman Helena Cos and guitarist Johnny Nap guided the group as it swiftly advanced from regional favorites to co-billed performances alongside acts such as Puddle of Mudd, Pop Evil, Trapt, and Saving Abel. Their debut full-length, Flipped Off, arrived in 2000, with the Preview EP following in 2003 and the album Ever After appearing in 2007; Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans) oversaw each of these projects. Producer Eric Rachel collaborated with the band on its self-titled third studio album, after which the well-received Bitten surfaced in 2012 and featured the heavy rock hit “Going Down.” The 2018 release Along Came a Spider, produced by Dan Malsch, generated the streaming hit “Rip Your Heart Out,” while the gritty and cathartic stand-alone single “Casual Violence” emerged in 2022.
