Biography
Longtime mutual admirers, Minutemen bassist Mike Watt and gonzo rock critic Richard Meltzer pledged to join forces on a shared project during the mid '80s, yet their long-delayed partnership finally surfaced only in 2012. On Spielgusher, Meltzer recited spoken word poetry above instrumental support supplied by Watt together with Cornelius touring musicians drummer Yuko Araki and guitarist Hirotaka "Shimmy" Shimizu. The self-titled debut album, issued on Watt’s Clenched Wrench imprint in January 2012, contained a remarkable total of 63 tracks.
