Biography
Emerging from Sundsvall, Sweden, the psychobilly trio the Spinballs first drew attention through their raucous stage shows in 2001. The group merges rockabilly with B-movie horror debauch in a manner comparable to the Kryptonix, Nekromantix, and Demented Are Go. Its lineup consists of Thomas "Palini" Palin, previously the guitarist and vocalist of Small Town Pimps, alongside slapbass player Stefan Larsson and drummer Ola Mannström. Although the band initially performed under the name the Pinballs, its earliest tracks appeared on the 2002 compilations It Came from Hell, Vol. 4 and Rocked 'n' Loaded, Vol. 2 credited to the Spinballs. The outfit issued its debut full-length album, Hell and High Water, in 2004 through the German imprint Black Sky, then followed a year later with the sophomore release Phreak-A-Bility, which reached U.S. listeners via Collector's Choice.
