Spirit Of Praise

Spirit of Praise operates as an acclaimed African gospel collective and functions as the primary venture of Spirit Music Group, the Johannesburg-based firm devoted to music production and distribution. Drawing together many of South Africa’s leading gospel performers, the endeavor spotlights the label’s extensive roster of soloists and vocalists.

The series originated in 2008 through a pair of live albums captured at the Pretoria State Theater, after which it continued issuing further volumes while accumulating multiple Crown and South African Music Awards. Contributors have included established South African gospel figures such as Benjamin Dube, Zaza Mokheti, Tshepiso Mpotle, Omega Khunou, and Papane, together with emerging talents like Tshepang Mputhi, who first appeared on the 2018 installment Spirit of Praise 7.
