Biography
Spiritu originated in New Mexico during August 2000, assembled by vocalist Jadd, guitarist Chav, bassist John Bess and drummer James. The group journeyed to Seattle the next year to work in the studio under acclaimed indie rock producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc.), completing their self-titled debut album after only three days. Meteor City issued the record in September 2002; an ensuing European tour alongside Clutch and Spiritual Beggars followed, after which the band returned home to begin work on their second LP.
