Stages in Faith, hailing from East London, blend post-hardcore and punk in a style that draws directly from the Revolution Summer era of Dag Nasty and Rites of Spring, resulting in a distinctive fusion of American and British punk elements within alternative rock. Their 2018 single "Forgiving Man" first showcased this approach.

The band came together in 2017 after its members had already performed in various U.K. hardcore groups throughout the eastern suburbs of London. Beyond emulating Revolution Summer acts, Stages in Faith also looked to labels including Dischord and Taang! when shaping the concise, melodic, and emotionally intense punk that defined "Forgiving Man." At the same time they incorporated the distinctly British punk approach associated with Leatherface, Snuff, and Midway Still.

Several months afterward the follow-up single "Same Craic" arrived, helping Stages in Faith gain recognition through their performances on the live circuit. In 2019 the group reentered the studio to track their first album, which appeared late that year as the more polished Delside on Quality Control HQ.
