Biography
Blending progressive rock elements, Star People craft songs featuring extraterrestrial-inspired lyrics that occasionally echo the B-52's, alongside narration reminiscent of Orson Welles and vocal performances with arrangements drawing from the Rat Pack. Declaring their origins as extraterrestrials hailing from the 11th dimension, the group's lineup features the Teacher on vocals (Bill Olland), Golden Boy Paul handling vocals and acoustic guitar (Paul Gifford), Doctor Scott on keys and theremin (Scott Treibitz), Ambassador Randy on bass (Randy Pratt), Captain Bob on guitar (Robert Dean), Helmsman Phil behind the drums (Phil Weiss), and Star Girl contributing violin and vocals (Lorenza Ponce). Across North America, Star People have shared stages with Dream Theater alongside Dixie Dregs, Moe, and most notably have logged extensive tours in the company of Ozric Tentacles.
