Static & Ben El, the Israeli dance-pop duo whose upbeat anthems have highlighted places around the globe, achieved their breakthrough in 2016 through their third single, "Silsulim." Their 2017 follow-up "Tudo Bom," which included a guest spot from J Balvin, proved even more successful on an international scale and opened doors to partnerships with Pitbull, Nasrin Kadri, Flipp Dinero, Black Eyed Peas, and additional artists. The pair delivered their debut full-length, Sheva Yerachim, in 2021.

Leeraz Russo, who performs as Static, was raised in Haifa and began piano lessons while still in preschool before shifting focus to guitar. Early work with producer Omri Segal marked his entry into professional music, at which point a childhood friend’s nickname prompted him to adopt the stage name Static. His initial chart success arrived in 2015 with the Gal Malka duet "Ba La Lirkod."

Tel Aviv native Ben El Tavori, whose parents are Israeli singer Shimi Tavori and model Aviva Azulai, first performed publicly alongside his father during his mid-teens and later pursued solo recordings. Static and Tavori made their initial joint appearance on rapper Ron "Sky" Nesher’s 2015 single "#DubiGal," which also introduced them to producer Yarden Peleg, known as Jordi. Forming Static & Ben El, they recruited Jordi for their inaugural pop single, "Barbie," issued in late 2015 and picked up by national radio.

Early the following year they released "Kvish Hachof" and then "Silsulim" in June 2016, the latter later adapted into the English-language "Broke Ass Millionaire." Its video accumulated tens of millions of views before being surpassed by their third single, the 2017 Brazil-themed "Tudo Bom," which incorporated several Portuguese phrases and became a worldwide hit. A remix featuring chart-topping Colombian singer J Balvin further amplified its reach, while the duo’s rising profile secured a multi-year role as Eurovision Song Contest judges, a 2018 U.S. tour, and a long-term Capitol Records deal for English-language projects. Throughout this period they maintained a consistent output of standalone singles that together generated hundreds of millions of video streams, an impressive total for a Hebrew-language act.

In early 2020 Static & Ben El joined American rapper Pitbull on "Further Up (Na, Na, Na, Na, Na)," which marked their 11th Israeli number one. They extended the streak with Miri Mesika on "We" and Black Eyed Peas on "Shake Ya Boom Boom." The next year the duo issued their first album, the seven-track Sheva Yerachim, featuring Netta Barzilai, Ron Nesher, and others.
