Biography
Known professionally as Stephanie K, Stephanie Brigitte Krawiec creates soul-infused material that fuses rock textures with dance-driven electronic pop. Growing up near Detroit, she took the stage early, dividing her formative years between pop interests and musical theater pursuits. An online audience had formed around her by 2005, the same year she completed her debut album, Intrigue. While enrolled at the University of Michigan she connected with Grammy Award-winning producer Michael J. Powell (Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Patti LaBelle) and began co-writing material with him. The Woodward Avenue label issued her Troublemaker EP in 2017; the project contained the single "Tonight" and the track "Trouble," which secured K the Female Artist of the Year award at the Los Angeles Music Awards.
