Biography
Steve Krase, a blues harp player and singer whose surname rhymes with “ace,” first saw the light of day in Brooklyn, New York. After living in Ohio, California, and Louisiana, he made Houston, Texas, his permanent base and soon became a familiar presence throughout the city’s blues and rock circles. He logged a decade as harmonica player for the regionally acclaimed Jerry Lightfoot & the Essentials, then filled the same chair with Matt Leddy & the Meatcutters once the Essentials called it quits. Eventually Krase launched his own group, Steve Krase & the In Crowd, which debuted on record with Easy Livin in 2005 and followed that release with Some Day in 2013 and Buckle Up in 2014.
