Steve Reid

Steve Reid built his reputation as a percussionist and producer by serving as a founding member of the Rippingtons, the contemporary jazz ensemble that rose to massive popularity. He spent a short stretch with Supertramp near the ensemble’s 1987 launch, contributing to Free as a Bird and Live 88. His first solo album, the worldbeat-influenced Bamboo Forest, arrived in 1994. Water Sign followed two years afterward. Later projects included Mysteries in 1997 and Passion in Paradise in 1999. Dream Scapes surfaced in 2001.
