Biography
Among the rare survivors of the English punk explosion during the mid-1970s, Steven Severin belonged to the Bromley Contingent, the well-known circle of Sex Pistols hangers-on, and helped establish Siouxsie And The Banshees as a founding member. Over three decades his contributions to the group continued uninterrupted, making him, aside from Sioux, the sole constant presence from beginning to end. Once the Banshees disbanded in 1996, Severin withdrew from the mainstream record business to pursue independent work, launching the internet and mail-order label RE: and issuing the soundtracks Visions in 1998 and Maldoror in 1999, both of which earned favorable notices. Women in the Dunes followed from him in mid-2000. His credits and collaborations range widely, and a volume of his erotic prose and poetry was slated for publication in early 2000.
