Formed in New York City during a 1990 summer music workshop where its three future members were all serving as instructors, the jazz trio Stevens, Siegel & Ferguson features pianist Michael Jefry Stevens, drummer Jeff "Siege" Siegel, and bassist Tim Ferguson. The ensemble has toured throughout the United States and Europe while performing or recording alongside artists such as Eddie Harris, John Abercrombie, Tal Farlow, Cecil Bridgewater, Ryan Kisor, Sir Roland Hanna, Lee Konitz, Ira Sullivan, Mark Whitecage, and the Fonda/Stevens Group. Each musician also maintains separate ongoing projects—Stevens with the Fonda-Stevens Quartet, the Michael Stevens Quartet, and Miles Griffith's New 'Ting; Siegel with Sir Roland Hanna, John Scofield, Joanne Brackeen, and the New York Trio Project; and Ferguson with Don Friedman and Eric Person. By the close of 2001 the trio had released four albums: One of a Kind in 1995, Points of View in 1997, Panorama in 1999, and Triologue in 2001.
