Biography
Stigma Rock Unit aspired to emulate an emo band, yet elaborate guitar solos and prog-ish noodling continued to exert their pull. Their lone release, Treasure Path to Soul Winning, preserved the group’s pop sensibilities and delivered pieces evocative of Superchunk and Boy's Life.
The ensemble originated in Lynchburg, VA in 1992 and demonstrated unexpected endurance. After shifting base to nearby Blacksburg, VA, they aligned with the local avant-garde imprint Squealer to issue their full-length album. In 1999 the band disbanded.
