Still Life

In the early 1970s, the little-known British group Still Life issued its debut album, bearing the band’s name, through the Vertigo label. That effort represented nascent progressive rock built around organ textures, with lyrics that probed anxious uncertainty and melancholy while the melodic lines absorbed the somber classical influences then widespread across the genre. ~ Richie Unterberger
