Stone Jack Jones

Born into a family whose coal-mining roots stretched back four generations, Stone Jack Jones grew up in Buffalo Creek, WV. He picked up the fiddle and chose the roaming life of a musician over the mines, though he held assorted non-musical jobs through the years and even operated a strip club for several of them. In the early ’80s he led the Atlanta, GA rock outfit Kaos. After relocating to Nashville he became friends with Patty Griffin and traveled as part of her touring band. A collaboration with producer Roger Moutenot soon followed, resulting in the making and release of his first album, Narcotic Lollipop. Bluefolk appeared in February 2006 on Moutenot’s Fictitious Records imprint.
