Biography
Stoney Lonesome features five musicians: Kate MacKenzie handling guitar and vocals, Chris Kaiser on mandolin along with lead guitar and vocals, Kevin Barnes covering banjo and dobro plus vocals, Brian Wicklund contributing fiddle and vocals, and Patty Shove on bass. Frequent appearances on Prairie Home Companion throughout the 1980s first brought the ensemble into the spotlight. Entering the 1990s, the five-piece outfit launched a series of recordings for Red House Records, beginning with the 1991 release Lonesome Tonight and continuing the following year with Blue Heartache.
