Biography
What began as guitarist/programmer/screamer Pig Boy’s lone venture into “pick up chicks,” Store Bought Lies instead became an outlet for venting his darker moments through raw musical invention once that plan failed to materialize. The effort expanded in 1997 when JustinSame (guitar), DJ SuoaSpy (turntables), Asisn Porn Starr (synthesizers), and Anonymous Bassist (bass) joined forces in the normally quiet Charleston, SC. Citing KMFDM, Sister Machine Gun, Pigface, and Nine Inch Nails as chief influences, the group issued its debut EP, Good as Dead, in 1999.
