Biography
The experimental rock trio Storm & Stress, based between Chicago and New York, features electric guitarist and singer Ian Williams from Don Caballero, drummer Kevin Shea, and bassist Erich Ehm from Golan Globus. Its name references the German literary movement Sturm und Drang. In early 1997 the group tracked its debut album, Storm and Stress, alongside Steve Albini, with Touch & Go issuing the record that July. June and July of 1999 found Storm & Stress cutting a follow-up with Jim O'Rourke; Micah Gaugh, already present on the first release, returned as a guest along with drummer Jim Black. Under Thunder & Fluorescent Lights appeared on Touch & Go in early 2000.
