Strawberry

Formed from a loose network of underground musicians and artists, Strawberry rose to prominence as one of Chicago’s chief platforms for experimental sounds once the new century began. Scott Gibbons and Jonathan Joe had already been pursuing sonic experiments together since 1992, material that would later appear on record. The project only crystallized after the pair turned their full attention to it in 1999 and recruited a number of their itinerant peers. Their self-titled debut arrived in the summer of 2002, presenting an eccentric rock n’ roll palette that folded in nearly every style imaginable.
