Biography
In Auckland, New Zealand, siblings Daniel, Dave, and Sarahjane Gibson established the seven-piece indie folk group known as Streets of Laredo. Having performed merely a single local gig, these siblings ventured boldly by moving to Brooklyn, New York, during 2012; there, the ensemble grew with the addition of New Zealand native Thom Darlow along with Sean McMahon and Andrew McGovern, both residents of Brooklyn. Their music bridges indie folk and pop through expansive vocal harmonies and an Americana-rooted style incorporating vigorous percussion, guitars both acoustic and electric, harmonica, horns, plus various other tools, aligning them alongside groups such as Edward Sharpe, Delta Spirit, and the Lumineers. Returning to Auckland produced two EPs issued in 2014 and compiled as Volume I & II.
