Biography
Distinct from Béla Fleck's late-'80s bluegrass supergroup that shared the identical name, Strength in Numbers formed in 2002 as a six-piece heavy metal band based in southern New Jersey. Its sound fused thrash and hardcore with an emo-derived emotional nuance that gained traction among various mid-2000s acts such as Hatebreed and Trivium, and the lineup of vocalists Jason Lorentzen and Tyrone Campos, guitarists Joe and Mike Gurnari, bassist Anthony Pallaga, and drummer Bill Papenberg eventually inked a contract with Ironboud Recordings before issuing the debut album The Veil in early 2005.
