Biography
Blending wit with a defiant punk sensibility, Strong Killings carry forward the lineage of outfits like the Angry Samoans and the more recent Pissed Jeans. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Nate Mooter, drummer Mike Loggins—both alumni of the punky power pop revivalists the Lashes—and bassist and singer Carlos Lopez-Lopez. They came together in Seattle once the members began jamming at house parties and chose their name after an R-rated film’s description. Summer 2011 saw the arrival of their self-titled full-length debut on Don’t Stop Believin’, a batch of rapid-fire, high-energy tracks addressing topics such as dinosaurs, drinking, and breaking things, while the scenester rant “Too Cool” was spotlighted on the MTV Hive music blog.
