Biography
Strychnine assembled in 1995 around the core of guitarists Len Rokk and Damen Vermon, bassist Mike-O-Psycho, drummer Markley Hart, and singer Jimi. After issuing singles and hitting the road, the group tracked Dead Rats and Oakland Dogs in 1996 for East Bay Menace Records.
The next twelve months brought extensive runs across America and Europe, during which Mike-O-Psycho exited and former Naked Aggression bassist Joe took his place. Both guitarists soon followed him out the door, so Brian Hood joined in time to appear on the second album, Born Too Loose.
With cash and inventory dwindling, Industrial Strength Records stepped forward to reissue the record on CD with added tracks that helped underwrite further touring. The band maintained that schedule through 2001, carving a lasting niche inside the underground punk scene.
