Biography
Stunt Taylor first drew widespread attention as a rapper in 2013 when “Fe Fe on the Block” surfaced, a buoyant single that captured the rising bop style then taking hold across Chicago and quickly turned into a staple for the city’s party dancers. Born in the K-Town section of the west side, Taylor had once aimed at a football career until injuries ended that path during his teenage years. He had already begun writing rhymes at fifteen, yet only committed fully to recording in his early twenties, shortly before completing studies at New York’s Globe Institute of Technology. The 2013 single itself was crafted expressly for club play and had become a defining bop anthem well before December arrived. An EP sharing the title followed in 2014. Later projects arrived in quick succession: the 2015 full-length Stunt’n on Turbo, which included guest spots from Twista and Chief Keef on “Friend of Me”; the 2016 set Maison Margiela Music; and 2017’s Captain Hook, which surfaced while Taylor contributed verses to multiple tracks led by other Chicago artists.
