Biography
Formed in 1998, the Los Angeles-based experimental jazz trio subthunk featured Antony Neely on programming and guitar, Alex U'Ren on Fxsharp, and Joe Nugent on drums. An Apple iBook became central to their process, yielding an eclectic jazz funk described as a "funky ass space groove." Their first release, the 2001 album Project B, was followed a year later by the magnificent, solid second album Just A Few Notes Before You Go.
