Indie rock veteran Sue Garner entered the world in Cave Spring, Georgia, where she spent her formative years before enrolling at an art school in Atlanta. She eventually relocated to New York, where her band Vietnam placed her inside the city’s early No Wave circle. Subsequent engagements took her through cult outfits such as the Last Round Up, the Shams, and Fish & Roses—the last of these featuring her husband Rick Brown—until she entered the underground supergroup Run On in 1992. Once that collective disbanded, she issued her solo debut, To Run More Smoothly, in 1998, with Still arriving two years afterward.
