Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns joined forces with Michael Sweet of Stryper to launch Sunbomb, a partnership between two enduring figures in hard rock and heavy metal. The resulting sound carries greater weight and a deeper doom atmosphere than either musician’s main outfit, surfacing first as the 2021 album Evil and Divine.
Frontiers Music President and A&R director Serafino Perugino originated the project inside the framework of classic metal, intending it as an outlet for Guns and Sweet, each already recognized for substantial achievements in the heavy metal world. Taking cues from Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, the endeavor reached completion in 2021 via Evil and Divine, a record that foregrounded Sweet’s vocal command and Guns’ precise guitar technique and songwriting.
