Biography
In the early 2000s, Kenny Florence, Adam Baker, Mike Robinson, Zack Oden, and Donzel Radford—each already a member of the Raleigh, NC-based band Annuals—launched Sunfold as an alt rock side project. The ensemble initially recorded under the name Sedona, a title they dropped after encountering trademark restrictions, and shaped a dreamy, intelligent, guitar-driven style rooted in the ambitious prog rock of Yes and Genesis while nodding to acts such as Incubus and Starsailor. Canvasback Records issued their debut EP, Wet Zoo, in spring 2008. That summer, Terpsikhore Records released the band’s first full-length album, Toy Tugboats.
