Superjuice, operating as alt-rock revivalists, deliver the murky textures and combative edge that defined the alternative sound of the early 1990s. Singer/songwriter Andy DiSimone and bassist Bob Troia, already acquainted for years through earlier projects, both relocated to New York City in 1999, prompting the band’s formation. The pair began composing songs together and devoted nearly two years to issuing singles through their website before linking up with guitarist Rick Heins and drummer Pete Gilbert. Their debut arrived in May of 2002 with the album Last Against the Wall, whose stylistic range separated them from most post-grunge contemporaries while revealing equal strength in both pop songcraft and hard-rock drive.
