Biography
Superscope assembled in 1994, at which point heavy guitar riffs and power-pop harmonies entered their sonic identity. The lineup brought together Shane Bolton on drums, Kevin Borruso on guitar and vocals, and Gerry McAvoy on bass; Citadel Records documented the resulting pop-metal hybrid with the trio’s 1995 debut album Generally Electric. After placing tracks on two Bomp Record compilations in 1996—Windmill Pop On Top and Windmill Laugh While you Can—the group entered a six-month hiatus during which they performed under the name Reuben Kinkaide. They resumed activity in 1997, prompting Spinning Top Records to issue the EP Popping Crease that same year.
