Biography
The trio Supersystem—Justin Destroyer, Pete Cafarella, and Rafael Cohen—had previously recorded under the name El Guapo during their time with Dischord Records. With the addition of drummer Joshua Blair from Orthrelm, the group created fresh material and issued the Born into the World/Defcon single via Touch and Go. Their inaugural full-length album, Always Never Again, arrived in April 2005. Supersystem soon reentered the studio alongside producer Jonathan Kreinik to craft A Million Microphones. This follow-up, which came out in summer 2006, moved at a more deliberate pace and incorporated a wider array of styles compared to their first effort, drawing from hip-hop and world music.
