Biography
Surya Botofasina, a keyboardist, composer, and actor, has earned notice for a spiritually charged fusion that interweaves jazz, new age, and Vedic devotional traditions across shifting stylistic boundaries. His first album, Everyone's Children, arrived in 2022, followed by Subtle Movements and Ashram Sun in 2024.
Northern California marked his birthplace, after which Botofasina grew up inside the Sai Anantam Ashram, first at the Vedantic Center in Woodland Hills and later at the Ashram in Agoura Hills. There he absorbed the spiritual and musical lessons of its founder, jazz pianist Alice Coltrane, identified within the Ashram as Swamini Turiyasangitananda. He later entered careers in music and acting, with screen credits that include HBO's Boardwalk Empire and Vinyl. Everyone's Children appeared as his debut album in 2022, while Subtle Movements and Ashram Sun both surfaced in 2024.
