Biography
Suzzy and Maggie Roche, comprising two-thirds of the fabulous folk combo the Roches, spent their early years in Park Ridge, NJ. Joined by their sister Terre Roche, the pair spent two decades touring internationally and issuing ten albums. In 2001 they joined the Institute on the Arts & Civic Dialogue in Cambridge, MA, an initiative that assembles participants of varied religions, ethnicities, and backgrounds for conversations on ideas and issues. The duo had planned to issue the album Zero Church on September 11, 2001, yet the day’s events postponed its appearance. Taking its name from the site of those gatherings by the socially conscious collective, the record emerged in January 2002 on Red House Records. The sisters have since played throughout the United States, earning recognition for their versions of gospel hymns and songs addressing current issues. They reappeared in 2004 with the album Why the Long Face.
