Biography
Jeff Carleton on vocals and Chiyoko Yoshida on drums and vocals, both alumni of Squash Blossom, joined forces to create Sweeder. Julie Liu supplied bass, violin, and viola, shaping the trio’s output into a melodic yet mature brand of orchestrated indie distinguished by the alternating male and female vocal lines of Carleton and Yoshida. Monitor Records issued the group’s debut full-length, Swallowed By the Sun, in 2000.
