Drawing from the smooth stylings of Sade and Jill Scott, Symphani Soto crafts relaxed R&B that incorporates ethereal layers and forward-looking production choices. After first gaining traction through makeup and beauty advice videos on social media, she ventured into music by issuing her initial tracks in 2017 and later unveiling more developed works such as the 2021 album Under the Sun.
Born in Cape Coral, Florida, in 1993, Soto started sharing vlogs and makeup tutorial videos online at age 16, quickly building a substantial audience. Years into her online visibility, she pursued music more seriously, moving to Los Angeles in 2017 to begin recording her debut EP, i am. That project appeared in 2018 and featured the catchy single "all i know." Several years passed before she released additional material, but in 2021 she returned with multiple new tracks along with the full-length Under the Sun. The eleven-song set featured Eric Bellinger on the single "Just a Moment."
