A composer from Japan, this figure created an extensive catalog of concert pieces for mandolin that has drawn particular notice. The film scores Hattori supplied for three Akira Kurosawa productions—They Who Step On the Tiger's Tail, No Regrets For Our Youth, and One Wonderful Sunday—stand as the works most readily recognized by listeners, all dating from 1946 and 1947.
